The Global Investigative Journalism Conference (GIJC) is the leading international gathering of investigative and data journalists, held once every two years. In 2023, the conference will take place in Gothenburg, Sweden, from 19 to 22 September, and is co-organised by GIJN, the Fojo Media Institute at Linnaeus University, and Föreningen Grävande Journalister, the Swedish national association of investigative journalists. The conference venue is the world-class Swedish Exhibition and Congress Centre.
GIJC23 will feature more than 150 panels, workshops and state-of-the-art networking sessions, from cross-border collaboration and online research to advanced data analysis. You'll find special tracks on climate change, the threat to democracy, data journalism, crime and corruption, education and training, and sustainability strategies - plus the latest security tips and a chance to network and collaborate with your colleagues from 100 countries. This is where you can learn from the best in the field and return home with sharpened skills and the latest tools and techniques.
With the support of our sponsors and partners, the conference is offering more than 150 bursaries to established and up-and-coming journalists in developing and transition countries, and to journalists from disadvantaged communities, to take part in this prestigious event. The competition is fierce, so you have to convince us that you will make great use of the training that GIJC23 offers.
To keep up to date with the bursaries, the global conference, and other GIJN opportunities, you can subscribe to our e-newsletter, the GIJN Bulletin.
