As part of its USAID-funded Capacity Building Programme for African stakeholders in the water, sanitation and hygiene sector (AfriCap), the African Water Association is awarding research grants to Young African Water and Sanitation Professionals. The target beneficiaries are master's students and engineers in the final year of their training. Each scholarship, with a maximum value of 1,000 USD (one thousand US dollars), will make it possible to carry out research work sanctioned by a scientific report on a topic related to the WASH sector.

VALUE

As part of this scholarship, the maximum amount awarded per beneficiary is 1,000 US dollars. Sixty percent (60%) of this amount will be paid to the recipient once the detailed research project plan has been finalised, approved by the research supervisor, and received by AfWA's Research and Capacity Building Programme Coordinator. The remaining forty per cent (40%) will be paid once the recipient has submitted the electronic version of their final research report.

ELIGIBILITY

  • Be a citizen of a sub-Saharan African country eligible for USAID funding
  • Be in good academic standing as far as their institutions are concerned.
