Registration for the CICOPS Scholarships 2025 are now open. In order to promote international co-operation, especially with developing countries (classified by the World Bank into low, lower-middle and upper-middle income economies), the University of Pavia and EDiSU (Institute for the Right to University Studies) are offering 6 scholarships for visiting scholars for the year 2025 for a period of stay of 4 to 12 weeks at the University of Pavia.
CICOPS grants are available for short-term research collaboration to encourage the mobility of researchers from developing countries. Academics from developing countries who wish to carry out research in collaboration with a professor from the University of Pavia can apply.

Scholarships
- The grant includes travel (economy class), board and lodging, health insurance and a contribution of 150 euros (gross) per week.
Eligibility
- Candidates must have at least two years' teaching or working experience in international organisations and institutions;
- The scholarships are aimed at junior and senior members of universities in developing countries or members of major research centres and international organisations or institutions with a specific interest in the field of development studies;
- CICOPS grants are reserved for short-term research collaboration to encourage the mobility of researchers from developing countries;
- Applicants enrolled in a doctoral or postgraduate course at an Italian university cannot apply.

When issuing the ranking, the Committee will take into account:
- The scientific relevance of the proposed project, especially when integrated with similar projects developed by the University of Pavia;
- The candidate's Curriculum Vitae;
- The fair distribution of scholarships between the department involved and the geographical regions of origin of the candidates.
Application
The following documents must be uploaded to the online form:
- Curriculum vitae ideally in European format with a list of publications (file to be named: Surname_Name_CV)
- Invitation letter from the professor or researcher with whom you wish to collaborate (file to be named: Last Name_Letter)
Uploaded documents must be labelled as above. Applications without a correctly named curriculum vitae and letter of invitation will not be considered. Complete the application form only after receiving the acceptance letter from your University of Pavia contact professor. Incomplete applications will be rejected; no exceptions will be made.
