Media grant to attend the Women Deliver 2026 conference
A Women Deliver (WD) conferenceThis globally recognised conference is a crucial event for driving progress towards gender equality and the health and rights of women and girls. In 2026, this conference promises to bring together leaders, activists, professionals and policymakers from around the world, offering an unprecedented platform to share knowledge, develop innovative strategies and mobilise resources to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) related to gender equality. Cape Verde's participation in this conference is key to ensuring that the country's specific perspectives and challenges are heard and considered.
The relevance of Cape Verde's participation in WD2026 lies in the opportunity to present the country's achievements, challenges and priorities in the field of gender equality. Cape Verde, with its ongoing efforts towards equality through specific legislation, policies and programmes, can share valuable experiences with other countries and, at the same time, learn from global best practices. Effective participation, particularly through a media exchange, makes it possible to amplify the voices of Cape Verdean women, promote the representation of diverse perspectives and increase the visibility of local initiatives.
A medium bag he proposal aims to support Cape Verdean communicators - journalists, bloggers, digital content creators and other communication professionals - to cover and participate in WD2026. This initiative aims to increase the visibility of the conference in Cape Verde, ensuring that relevant information and crucial discussions reach the target audience. Recipients of the grant would have the opportunity to:
- Participate in the conference: Participating in person at WD2026 will provide unprecedented learning experiences, opportunities to networking and direct access to panels, workshops and parallel events.
- Conference coverage: The fellows will be responsible for producing high-quality journalistic content, including articles, videos, photographs and social media posts, covering the main topics under debate and Cape Verdean perspectives.
- Representation: To offer a Cape Verdean perspective on the topics discussed, ensuring that the experiences and needs of the country's women and girls are heard and considered.
- Construction of networking: Establish contacts with activists, opinion leaders and experts in gender equality, promoting collaboration and the exchange of knowledge.
The selection of candidates will be based on strict criteria, including experience in journalism or communication, knowledge of gender issues, the ability to produce quality content and the willingness to share the learning with the Cape Verdean community. The selection process will be transparent and fair, ensuring that the beneficiaries represent the cultural and geographical diversity of the country.
The media scholarship is an investment in the future of gender equality in Cape Verde. By empowering local communicators, we are ensuring that the voices of Cape Verdean women are heard and that the country remains at the forefront of global efforts to achieve a more just and equitable world. Participation in WD2026, boosted by this grant, will strengthen the country's capacity to develop effective policies and programmes and inspire other nations to follow Cape Verde's example.
We are counting on your collaboration to make this project a reality. Support us in realising this goal and strengthening Cape Verde's voice on the international gender equality stage.
