The WARC Travel Grant promotes intra-African co-operation and exchange between researchers and institutions by providing support to African academics and postgraduate students for research visits to other institutions and regions on the continent.

Travel grant funds can be used for:

• participate in and present papers at academic conferences held on the African continent
• visit libraries or archives located in Africa with resources necessary for the candidate's academic work
• participate in collaborative work with colleagues from another African institution
• travelling to a research site in Africa

Financing Information

• The WARC Travel Grant provides travel costs of up to US $ 1,500 and a salary of US $ 1,500.

Eligibility criteria

This competition is only open to West African citizens, with priority given to those affiliated with West African colleges, universities or research institutions.
