The Kroc Institute for Peace and Justice (Kroc IPJ) at the Kroc School at the University of San Diego is pleased to announce the call for applications for the Women PeaceMakers Fellowship programme. Since its inception in 2002, this fellowship has provided a unique platform for peacebuilders dedicated to addressing issues of gender, peace and conflict. Through a comprehensive programme encompassing learning, practice, research and participation, the Women PeaceMakers Fellowship aims to strengthen peacebuilding partnerships and foster impactful collaborations.
About the PeaceMakers Women's Scholarship
The Women PeaceMakers Fellowship serves as a nexus for collaboration between peacebuilders from conflict-affected regions and international partner organisations. Fellows engage in the co-creation of research endeavours that aim to shape the peacebuilding landscape and promote best practices in the design and implementation of peacebuilding.
Objectives of the scholarship
- Get involved in a cycle of learning, practice, research and participation.
- Gain new skills, perspectives and innovative approaches to peacebuilding.
- Expand professional peace-building networks.
- Promoting vital peace-building research that shapes practices and policies.
Key information
- Dates : September - July
- Residence : A two-week residency at the University of San Diego (usually in November)
- Stipend : US$ 15,000 plus expenses
- Eligibility Open to peacebuilders worldwide with at least five years' experience in peacebuilding and proficiency in English.
- Themes : Each year, the scholarship focuses on a specific theme that guides the research.
Application and scholarship schedule
Potential candidates are expected to participate in all fellowship activities, including public events, and collaborate with international partners to foster effective local and global collaborations. Fellows will conduct original research and participate in a two-week residency at the University of San Diego. In addition, they will become part of the Kroc IPJ Women Waging Peace network, benefiting from a wide range of resources and opportunities.
