Applications are now open for the doctoral scholarship 2024-2025 from the African Economic Research Consortium (AERC) . The African Economic Research Consortium (AERC) was created in 1988 as a non-profit public organisation dedicated to the advancement of economic policy research and training in Africa.

The Consortium's mandate and strategic intent are based on the fact that sustained development in sub-Saharan Africa requires well-trained, locally-based professional economists. The AERC promotes the provision of economic policy capacity building in Francophone and Anglophone African countries through the provision of support in the areas of policy research and postgraduate training.

Have enrolled and been admitted to any of the CPP universities listed;
Have obtained at least a Second Class Honours (Upper Division) or equivalent in Economics, Agricultural Economics or related fields from an accredited university;
Have a Master's degree (with coursework and thesis component) in Economics, Agricultural Economics or related areas from a recognised University. The course should cover microeconomics, macroeconomics, quantitative methods and econometrics;
The possession of at least 1 relevant publication in a refereed journal will be an added advantage;
Evidence of involvement in economic management, research and/or training in the public sector will be an added advantage; and
Women and candidates from fragile and post-conflict states are encouraged to apply.

Upon receipt of an admission letter from a specific university, applicants must upload the following documents to the AERC scholarship portal .
