The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), in collaboration with Coursera, is offering the chance to develop skills that can give you abilities for digital occupations as part of the Federal Government's goal of creating 1 million jobs in the digital economy.

With the help of these scholarships, Nigerian citizens will be able to obtain professional certifications from some of the world's leading US colleges and technology giants (such as Meta, Google and IBM). Applicants must choose one certification programme from each of the A and B categories they wish to enrol in.

Candidates need to choose between a Category A and Category B certification programme.

  • category A (IT Career Pathway) has 19 professional certification programmes to help you launch a successful IT career. Each programme includes a series of related courses that give you in-depth knowledge and practical skills for employment. You will receive a certificate of completion for each individual course, but professional certification is obtained when you finish all the courses required in the programme.
  • Category B (Complementary Skills Pathway) offers 4 certification programmes to hone your IT skills and improve your use of digital productivity tools, entrepreneurship or freelance skills.
  • Each fellow will have a Coursera leave of absence for six (6) months from Monday 19 June 2023 for Cohort 2.
