Applications are now open for the AXA Scholarship 2024 . The AXA Professorship is a highly specialised funding scheme designed to support advanced breakthroughs in the development of a research area within a host institution, in line with the institution's long-term strategy. It aims to create a full-time academic load at the host institution and promote a step change in the career of the AXA Professor appointed. The Host Institution must intend to create a permanent full-time post.
The AXA Research Fund supports academic projects that contribute to a better understanding and approach to global risks, especially in the areas of:
- Climate and Environment
- Health
- Socioeconomics and New Technologies
Subsidies
- Up to €200,000 per year for a maximum of 5 years.
Eligibility
- Host institutions must be registered in the AXA Research Fund database.
- Financial institutions can only present one candidate for the whole institution (not one per department, faculty or laboratory).
- The future President is expected to have at least a PhD + 10 years, be of the highest calibre and have presented excellent research results.
- The research programme must demonstrate its scientific originality and innovative character.
Application
- Step 1: Expression of interest - Send via the online application platform: details of the candidate (date of birth and date of PhD defence), short CV (3 pages) and title and description of the research programme (3000 characters including spaces).
- Step 2: Complete application - You will be invited to submit a complete application via the online application platform. The application must be submitted in English by the deadline. Applications received after the deadline will not be eligible.
- Step 3: Refutation - Applicants will have one week to respond to the reviewers' comments before their application is submitted to the AXA Research Fund Scientific Council.
- Step 4: Online question and answer session with the members of the Scientific Council - Only for pre-selected candidates.
