Programme information
The central component of the AFRIKA KOMMT! initiative is the one-year stay of African professionals in Germany. Fellows actively work in their partner companies throughout this period while receiving training and mentorship. The learning process is complemented by additional elements organized by GIZ, such as language classes, workshops, and networking events.

Professional and specialized selection process: Program fellows are chosen through a meticulous selection process conducted in close collaboration with participating companies.

German language and cultural integration classes comprise the first part of the curriculum, designed to prepare scholarship recipients for their time in Germany. Scholarship recipients also have the opportunity to travel to German cultural landmarks.

The scholarship recipients undergo three modules of intensive management training, where they develop their understanding of contemporary global management techniques.

Professional scholarship with partner company:
Young specialists spend eight months working on projects and gaining valuable work experience with their partner companies.

The AFRIKA KOMMT! Network brings together African experts and partner companies at various networking events to share knowledge and advance collaborative projects.

After a year in Germany, scholarship recipients become alumni and serve as ambassadors for the transfer of knowledge and skills in their home countries. The alumni's skill set is enhanced, and the AFRIKA KOMMT! network is further strengthened by a one-week refresher course in Africa or Germany.
