The African Women in Digital Health (AWiDH) movement has announced the launch of its mentoring programme, which aims to empower African women in the digital health sector. This initiative is designed to improve the representation and leadership of African women by enhancing their business acumen and leadership skills, thus enabling them to excel in the digital health space.
Main details:
- Who can apply Women founders aged between 20 and 40, who are citizens or residents of any African country. Applicants must demonstrate that their digital health solution meets the needs of an underserved population and offers measurable improvements over existing public health solutions.
- Application deadline: 23:59 GMT on 30 August 2024.Programme structure:
- One-to-one mentoring: Participants will receive guidance from leading African women in the technology sector.
- One-week immersion programme: from 21 to 25 October, the mentees will take part in an intensive experience focused on creativity in business strategy, leadership, product development, marketing, branding and finance.
- Participation in the African Health Technology Summit: Fellows will participate in the Third African Health Technology Summit in Kigali, Rwanda, from 29 to 31 October, where they will be able to interact with industry leaders and policy makers.
Support and implementation of the programme:
- Leadership: The mentoring programme is implemented by Speak Up Africa under the leadership of the African Union and Africa CDC.
- Support: Technical and financial support is provided by Resolve to Save Lives.
