The Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani Anti-Corruption Excellence Award aims to champion the importance of fighting corruption and encourage the implementation of the crucial measures set out in the United Nations Convention Against Corruption by collecting and disseminating creative and outstanding anti-corruption achievements. projects, publicly rewarding and honouring exceptional related efforts.
By highlighting exemplary models and promoting excellence and creativity in the fight against corruption, the Prize is intended to serve as an incentive for greater motivation and as a tool for identifying, recognising, honouring and rewarding those who have demonstrated vision, leadership, creativity, enthusiasm and commitment and dedication in the fight against corruption, as well as the ability to inspire others to replicate similar efforts.

Eligibility
- Nominations must be made by a third party, i.e. an organisation other than the individual or institution nominated, using an online nomination form. Previous winners of the award can submit nominations.
- Eligible nominators include high-level officials from government departments and agencies, international organisations, academic institutions, renowned and relevant non-governmental organisations and professional associations.
- Self-nominations will not be accepted. The nominee and the nominator must not be the same person and must not be related or hierarchically dependent on each other.
- Appointments should not include current holders of high-level political positions in governments (defined as ministerial level and above), or heads of government agencies or international organisations and agencies.
- Previous winners of the award are not eligible for subsequent nominations.
