In 2010, Gray Matters Capital launched IDEX Accelerator, a professional fellowship programme for aspiring social enterprise professionals. Its mission is to create the next wave of "social intrapreneurs" who will support, lead and advance the work of socially-focused enterprises around the world. Social intrapreneurs are becoming key players in the race towards a new kind of economy.

IDEX Virtual Scholarship Programme in Social Enterprises:

This Fellowship is for young professionals (21 to 35 years old) from all over the world who want to dive deep into the social impact sector and make the transition to social enterprise professional. Now in its 10th year, the IDEX Fellowship offers applicants multiple options in terms of how they can direct their fellowship and learning experience. They've worked hard to ensure the accessibility of the programme and now they're going one step further. The virtual programme is designed to allow young professionals to acquire the tools and resources to operate virtually, as well as upskill themselves for a successful career in social entrepreneurship.

The Virtual Scholarship Programme:

Ideal for those looking to continue their current work/life situations and interested in exploring career/specialisation opportunities in the social impact sector and upskilling for the same.
Especially suitable for those looking to equip themselves with the tools and resources to work effectively in a virtual environment.
Each Fellow will have access to online learning labs/projects with 3-4 social enterprises from around the world/learning webinars/live community engagement with over 300 alumni/and one-on-one meetings with resident mentors.
Supported in terms of key theory and practical knowledge of the subject and an understanding of how one can begin to align oneself professionally for the pursuit of a career in the sector.
Your organisation has the opportunity to participate as one of the live case challenges in which the Cohort will work with a senior member or founder of your organisation to develop real-world solutions to an existing problem statement in your organisation.

Investments and Scholarship Opportunities:

The tuition fee for the IDEX Scholarship Programme is US$ 5,950 for all programme offerings. However, IDEX also offers partial tuition scholarships in the programme to a select number of applicants (male and female) to participate in the scholarship, i.e. the IDEX Scholarship Award, and an exclusive full scholarship award to one or two deserving female applicants, i.e. the InvestWISE Scholarship Award (applicable to the Full Immersion Scholarship Programme only).

Ideal candidate:

They are looking for young professionals (ages 21-35) who have a proven track record of leadership and who are seeking to use their education and skills to address social and economic challenges for underserved populations. IDEX Fellows come from a wide range of educational and professional backgrounds, as each individual fellowship position requires different specific skills. Ideal candidates will possess:

Bachelor's or Master's degree
A minimum of 1 to 3 years' work experience
Proven track record of leadership responsibilities
A passion and desire to work in or learn about emerging markets and use social enterprise principles to solve global problems
An ability to adapt quickly and work in resource-restricted environments
Desire to engage in an intense professional development experience while applying creative solutions to deepen impact
