Overview
Applied Research Projects (ARPs) are a key element of the MINT programme, offering students the opportunity to apply their analytical and research skills to practical, policy-relevant issues. Through ARPs, students work in small groups under the supervision of Graduate Institute faculty to provide high-quality research for partner organisations.
Student Responsibilities:
- Develop project Terms of Reference and frame research questions
- Carry out literature reviews and design methodologies
- Carry out original research and analyse primary data
- Writing preliminary and final analytical reports
- Present final research results
The ARP process emphasises teamwork, collaboration, professionalism, effective communication and problem-solving.
Partner Organisations
Organisations that address global issues are invited to sponsor an ARP. Partners are expected to mentor and support students, ensuring that research is relevant to policy and practice.
Partner responsibilities:
- Provide a general framework for the research project
- Attend approximately four meetings with the students
- Provide feedback and validate results (Terms of Reference, Literature Review, Methodology, Preliminary and Final Reports)
- Watch the final presentation
Application process:
- Send registration form to ARP partner until 31 July 2024.
- Screening and Selection:
- Successful candidates will be contacted by mid-September 2024.
- The organisations selected must adhere to the Geneva Graduate Institute's Code of Conduct and sign a partnership agreement.
