The brotherhood
The Queen Elizabeth II Academy for Leadership and the Next Generation, created in 2014 and inaugurated by Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, aims to develop future policy-makers and drive positive change in world affairs. The Academy equips future leaders with the knowledge, skills and networks to make a positive and lasting impact on international affairs.
The Richard and Susan Hayden Academy Fellowship offers candidates at the early and middle stages of their careers the opportunity to spend ten months at Chatham House working on an individual research project of their choice. This fellowship is a joint initiative with Richard and Susan Hayden.

Main grant areas
Scholars are encouraged to align their proposals with Chatham House's research programmes:
- Digital Society Initiative : Explore alternative models of technological governance and innovative policy responses for a healthy digital commons.
- Europa Programme : Examining the future of the EU, safeguarding European security and Europe's position in the world.
- Global Economics and Finance Programme Investigating the potential end of dollar dominance and the legitimacy of global economic governance.
- International Security Programme : Facing common challenges in space and cyberspace and evolving security threats.
- UK in the World Programme : focussing on the UK's scientific and technological capabilities, strategic international relations and the impact of UK foreign policy.
Selection criteria
The successful candidate will:
- Have relevant experience and a demonstrated ability to conduct independent research.
- Hold an undergraduate/postgraduate qualification or equivalent professional experience.
- Show proven leadership potential and commitment to the mission and values of Chatham House.
- Being able to communicate how the fellowship will enable them to create a positive impact.
- Demonstrate proficiency in speaking English.

- Contract 10 months, temporary.
- Location : Hybrid (Office/Home), minimum 2 days in the office per week.
