Applications are now open for the Global Awards 2024 of the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) . The WIPO Global Awards celebrate exceptional companies and individuals who make intelligent use of intellectual property for commercialisation, while making a positive contribution to society through their innovation and creativity.
The annual prize competition is organised for candidates from WIPO's 193 member states and from various economic sectors. Initially including small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), the competition introduced a new category for startups in 2024. There are plans to incorporate additional categories in future editions of the programme.

Prizes
- The finalists and winners receive international promotion, recognition and visibility through various platforms.
- Winners are invited to attend the awards ceremony and other networking events in Geneva, Switzerland. Travelling expenses covered.
- The winners receive a personalised mentoring programme.

- It is a registered commercial organisation. Proof of registration is required.
- It has no more than 300 employees and up to US$ 15 million in total annual sales.
- Holds at least one registered IP right.
- You are exporting your products or services to at least one country.
For startups
Open to all start-ups located in at least one of the 193 WIPO Member States and which fulfil the following conditions:
- A startup is a registered business entity with a legal existence of no more than three years. Proof of registration is required.
- It has no more than 50 employees.
- The start-up has an innovative product or service associated with IP rights.
- The startup has filed at least one application for registration of an IP right and/or is the holder of at least one registered IP right.
- The startup is affiliated with a business support organisation, such as an incubator, accelerator or similar entity. Proof of affiliation is required.
- The startup has affirmed its involvement with at least one commercial client and/or concluded a commercial sale and/or secured an investor.
