Deadline: 31 March 2024

Registration is now open for The World Academy of Sciences Prize (TWAS) 2026 . The TWAS Prizes (formerly the 'TWAS Awards') are awarded to individual scientists from developing countries in recognition of an outstanding contribution to scientific knowledge in nine fields of science and/or to the application of science and technology to sustainable development.

To comply with the TWAS Council decision taken in November 2018, the TWAS Awards cycle will be  every two years. In addition, during the TWAS Council meeting held in Hangzhou, China, on 11 November 2019, UNESCO's request to change the term 'award' to 'prize' for all existing and new TWAS distinctions, except medals, was approved, and therefore this award scheme is now called 'TWAS Prizes'.
