The International Olympic Committee (IOC) is disseminating information about the Women's Sport Leadership Academy (WSLA), led by the University of Chichester in the United Kingdom, and developed and delivered in partnership with Leading Edge. There is a strong focus on including Portuguese-speaking participants in this program.
This week-long residential program consists of various activities, such as workshops, personal development plans, reflection groups, and peer support sessions.
The goal is to develop the female sports leaders of tomorrow, preparing and supporting them to increase their knowledge and become part of a growing group of female leaders in sports.
Since 2014, more than 400 women from a range of sports organizations based in sixty-nine countries across six continents have graduated from the Academy.
For the 2024 edition, WSLA will bring together another 36 outstanding female leaders from around the world and support them in realizing their leadership potential.
The WSLA 2024 residential week will take place from February 8th to 13th, Sunday to Friday, at the Bishop Otter Campus, University of Chichester.
The application deadline is Thursday, February 29, 2024. For more information, please email wsla@chi.ac.uk or visit WSLA.
The Olympic Solidarity Olympic Values Training program will offer a limited number of scholarships covering tuition fees.
In some cases, academics may be eligible for an additional grant to help offset airfare expenses. Priority will be given to National Olympic Committees (NOCs) considered to have the greatest need.
NOCs wishing to nominate a candidate for a scholarship must submit their application via RELAY by 29 February 2024 at the latest for the 2024 edition. Please note that candidates will need to apply to the University of Chichester separately and be admitted to the course before Olympic Solidarity can consider a scholarship.
