The United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network in Nigeria (UN SDSN Nigeria) recognises the significant threat of climate change and its consequences as a result of the triple planetary emergency - which includes rising global temperatures, habitat loss leading to species extinction, and ongoing air, land and water pollution.
The Climate Actor Accelerator Programme (CAAP) has been designed specifically for young innovators and change agents aged between 18 and 35 who are passionate about offering solutions to the global climate crisis, thus creating a livable environment towards a net zero future. This knowledge-sharing and innovation programme offers a comprehensive approach to creating a sustainable future through advanced training, bootcamp, environmental campaigns, clean-up efforts, tree-planting activities, eco-tours and innovative thinking.

The aim of this programme is to develop a network of young talents who will pioneer transformative solutions to restore and protect our planet and ecosystem. We believe these solutions would address the critical issues of climate change mitigation and adaptation, promotion of our natural and cultural heritage, biodiversity conservation, waste and pollution, and responsible production and consumption, to make our environment and human settlements inclusive, resilient and sustainable.
ELECTION CRITERIA:
- To take part in this programme, please note the following criteria before proceeding with your application:
- Applicants must be Nigerian and between 18 and 35 years old.
- Ability to devote at least 4 hours a week throughout the programme.
- Availability to participate in Masterclass sessions, Climate Education and Community Development Projects.
- Interested in being an agent of development and transformation.
