Introduction: UNICEF is inviting passionate young people to join its Youth Advisory Group (YAG) for the evaluation of the implementation of the Gender Policy and Gender Action Plans. This represents a unique opportunity for enthusiastic minds to actively contribute to shaping UNICEF's mission to challenge gender inequalities.

Role of the Youth Advisory Group: As a YAG member, participants will:

  • Get involved in the evaluation process, offering valuable insights.
  • Key evaluation questions of sensory verification for resonance with youth demographics.
  • Influencing design to make it more inclusive and youth-friendly.
  • Validate emerging findings and recommendations.
  • Support the dissemination of results in a teen-friendly way.

Eligibility criteria: UNICEF is looking for individuals aged between 18 and 25 who..:

  • Have a strong interest in UNICEF's gender work, including programming or advocacy.
  • Feel free to communicate in English, French or Spanish.
  • Have a passion for research and a desire to contribute to meaningful evaluations.
  • Commit to active participation throughout the evaluation process.

Time Commitment: The involvement of young people should take approximately five working days between January and September 2024. Participation is voluntary, with compensation in the form of reimbursement for internet data, travel and refreshments. UNICEF will provide certification and training in policy and programme evaluation.

Registration process: Interested parties should send expressions of interest by 4 January 2024. This should include a short statement (no more than 500 words) describing motivation, relevant experience, interest in gender issues and vision for youth participation in the evaluation process.

Selection process: A selection committee will analyse the applications, and shortlisted candidates may be invited to a virtual interview. The final selection will be based on the alignment of the candidates' interests and experiences with YAG's objectives.
