REQUIREMENTS
- Candidates must operate an existing and operational business.
- The business must have been operational for at least 12 months.
- They must have a comprehensive business plan.
- Applicants must have an active FCMB account with a minimum balance of N5,000.
- In the case of WSMEs, the main candidate must have any of the following:
- A minimum shareholding of 51%
- The company must have at least 20% participation of a minimum of three women in the management team
- Or the business can be wholly owned
- Applicants must use their winnings from the competition for business-related purposes as described in their application. T&Cs apply.
- Entries must be submitted by the specified deadline, and late entries will not be considered.
The Global Entrepreneurship Week Programme is organised by First City Monument Bank Limited, hereinafter referred to as "the Organiser". The programme aims to provide participating SMEs, hereinafter referred to as "Participant/Applicant", with educational resources and grants to improve their businesses.
2. ELIGIBILITY
- Applicants must have an active FCMB account with a minimum balance.
- They must have a comprehensive business plan.
- Applicants must operate an existing, operational and registered company.
- The business must have been operational for at least 12 months.
- In the case of WSMEs, the following criteria must be met:
- The business must be a legally registered business.
- The business must be owned by a woman, i.e. the MD or CEO is a woman.
- At least 51% of the company's shares are held by women or
- At least three of the company's directors must be women and 20% of the company's shares must be owned by women. A minimum of 20% of the company's shares must be owned by women, and the company must have a minimum of three female directors.
- The SME must be a legally registered company in the applicable jurisdiction.
- Participation in the Programme is subject to acceptance by the Organiser.
- Sending incomplete or false information during the registration process may lead to disqualification.
3. PARTICIPANTS' RESPONSIBILITIES
- Register for the event
- Complete a Business account opening with an opening balance of at least N5000
- Actively engage with programme content and attend scheduled sessions.
- Complete & submit any assigned tasks and assignments provided as part of the programme
- Meet the set criteria to be selected as a beneficiary of the ₦250,000 worth of business training or be amongst the 10% to be eligible for a ₦1,000,000 score grant.
4. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY AND USAGE OF INFORMATION
By participating in the Programme, Participants grant the Organiser the right to use any feedback, contributions or information shared during the Programme for promotional or informational purposes.
5. DATA PRIVACY
The Organiser will process personal information in accordance with the Nigerian Data Protection Act 2023 and any applicable data protection laws and regulations.
6. PROGRAMME RESULTS
It is important to note that although the Programme aims to provide valuable knowledge and resources, the Organiser does not guarantee any specific commercial outcome as a result of participation in the programme.
7. MODIFICATION
The Organiser reserves the right to modify or terminate the Programme at any time without liability and shall provide reasonable notice to Participants of any changes.
8. COMPLIANCE AND CANCELLATION
Participants who violate these terms or applicable laws that contradict the legal nature of running an SME or participants who have committed any form of misrepresentation or under sanction by any reputable laws may be removed from the programme at the discretion of the Organisers.
9. THE GRANT
- Eligible Participants may benefit from the Subsidy, subject to meeting the criteria specified by the Organiser.
- The participant acknowledges and agrees that any grant taken advantage of under this programme will be used strictly for business-related purposes as described in their application.
10. LEGAL BUSINESS OPERATIONS
Applicants affirm that their business operations fully comply with applicable laws and regulations.
11. CONFIDENTIALITY
Participants must keep the information they receive confidential and refrain from sharing it with third parties without the express written approval of the Organiser or any partner organisation.
12. APPLICABLE LAW AND JURISDICTION
- These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
- The Organiser and the Participant shall submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
13. GENERAL PROVISIONS
These terms and conditions outline the expectations, responsibilities and benefits of the Global Entrepreneurship Week Programme.
By participating, individuals recognise and agree to these terms and conditions.
The Organiser will provide additional details on the Global Entrepreneurship Week Programme as required to eligible Participants.
