The Jim Leech Mastercard Foundation Fellowship on Entrepreneurship offers African students and recent graduates the opportunity to access training, resources, financial support and a network of mentors to develop their entrepreneurial skills and start building their own enterprise. The 8-month programme develops exceptional entrepreneurial skills and the mindset of leaders to generate social and financial impact.

ELIGIBILITY

  • The Jim Leech Mastercard Foundation Fellowship accepts students and recent graduates from all academic disciplines, and from any African post-secondary institution. Whether you're already working in a business or looking to start something new, we can help.
  • The programme is looking for participants who are committed to developing their entrepreneurial mindset and who will take advantage of the resources provided to develop their own ventures. The programme is delivered virtually and can be completed at any pace, however, the most committed participants will commit at least 10 hours per week. To progress through the phases of the programme, participants will submit work online, respecting strict deadlines.
  • The programme content is taught in English. Mentoring can be offered in English and French. Papers and pitches must be completed in English.
  • Potential scholars who are unable to speak or write English are still encouraged to apply and team up with someone who can fulfil all the requirements of the programme in English.
  • Potential scholars can also work with their local university to create a strategy to ensure that they are able to access university resources that will help them face the challenge related to language ability.
