The Global Internship Programme (GIP) allows highly motivated individuals to gain exposure to the mission and work of IFC and the IFC Group. World Bank as a whole and become part of the world's largest private sector development institution. Individuals are encouraged to offer new points of view and innovative concepts for IFC's work, while honing their skills in a dynamic environment. Additional information:

  • The duties and responsibilities are different for each position.
  • Between May and September, IFC employs global interns for a minimum of four weeks to work on separate projects in Washington, D.C., or in one of IFC's country or regional offices. Many of the possibilities listed are also available to be participated in remotely.
  • Participation in sector-specific market mapping, evaluations of investment proposals, financial modelling and analysis, portfolio management, upstream work and consulting services activities are examples of operational responsibilities. Other tasks that incorporate and support departments can include various activities.
