Are you working academically or practically on climate protection or the conservation of climate-relevant resources in your home country - a non-European developing or transition country? Then we invite you to apply for an International Climate Protection Fellowship from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation.

If you're a potential leader, you'll do a one-year research project in Germany as part of your scholarship; if you're a postdoc, long-term academic research (12-24 months). It should focus on combating climate change, adaptation strategies, the preservation of ecosystems and biodiversity or the sustainable use of seas and oceans. Sustainability themes related to natural resources, efficient resource consumption or urban development are also welcome.

VALUE

We offer you

  • a monthly stipend of €2,170, €2,470 or €2,670 in the programme line for potential leaders - depending on their training and career level; a monthly stipend of €2,670 in the programme line for postdoctoral researchers

  • a three-week introductory event where you can network with other climate protection fellows, visit companies and research institutions and take part in cultural events in Germany

ELIGIBILITY

We invite you to apply for an International Climate Protection Fellowship if:

  • explore issues in the natural or engineering sciences or address legal, economic, health-related or societal aspects of climate change
  • are citizens of a non-European developing or transition country and predominantly live and work there
  • have initial experience in a leadership role and corresponding leadership skills
  • very good knowledge of English and/or German
