Applications are now open for the Shark Tank Wellness Global Student Competition 2023 . The Shark Tank of Wellness competition is a global challenge where students submit their innovative ideas for the wellness industry for a chance to win cash prizes and a trip to the annual Global Wellness Summit.

GWS Wellness Sharks is looking for innovative new concepts that make a positive impact on the wellness industry, including sectors as varied as architecture/design, beauty, education, fitness, hospitality, investment, medicine, nutrition, property, spa, technology, travel, tourism and much more.

The three finalists will fly to GWS 2023 to be held from 6 to 9 November in Doha, Qatar, to present their wellness business idea to a panel of Wellness Sharks, who are business leaders and investors in wellness. The Wellness Sharks will ask questions of the students, who will defend their innovations and make a business case for their predictions on stage in front of hundreds of Summit delegates - a "who's who" in the global wellness world from over 50 countries.

Prizes

• First prize: One first prize winner will receive US$ 5,000.
• Second prize: One second prize winner will receive US$ 3,000.
• Third prize: A third winner will receive US$ 2,000.
• Additional non-financial prizes include airfare and hotel bookings in Tel Aviv, Israel, for the three finalist students (individual or team leader) and their best teachers. Also included is access to the three-day Summit (a value of US$ 4,560), including all general sessions, keynote discussions and industry forums, with global industry leaders. A host of social events and a final gala evening are included. This is an invaluable opportunity to meet and learn from global visionaries.

Eligibility

• Open to individual students and teams of students over 18 from anywhere in the world. There is no entry fee.
• If you take part as a team and your team is chosen as one of the three finalists, only the team leader will be eligible to take part in the Global Wellness Summit with your teacher.
• The participant(s) must be an undergraduate or university student (working towards a one- or two-year diploma, a four-year bachelor's degree or a Vocational Education and Training (VET) qualification) or an undergraduate/postgraduate student (working towards a master's degree, MBA, JD, MD or PhD) at a leading university or college at the time they develop and submit their concept.
• The participant(s) must be a full-time or part-time student at the university or college.
• The participant(s) must have a teacher or supervisor who acts as a mentor for their project.
• All contestants must be available to attend the Global Wellness Summit 2023, from 6 to 9 November in Doha, Qatar, to present their idea in person.

Judging Criteria

Entries will be judged on the following criteria, which will have equal weight:

• Project innovation
• Visual appeal or design
• Relevance and importance for the wellness industry
• Viability as a business (analysing clients/market and competitors)
• Quality of project presentation
