Fondation Suez is seeking applications for its donations to favour access to essential services - watersanitation and waste management - for disadvantaged populations in developing countries. In FranceThey are fighting social exclusion while respecting everyone's participation and dignity.

The Foundation prioritises candidates who have local divisions or communicate a very close partnership with a local structure, facilitating project monitoring and ex-post project follow-up.

Through its support, the SUEZ Foundation wishes to:

  • Strengthening the experience of local players and disseminating knowledge by supporting actions to professionalise services, setting up programmes of training and the promotion of networking between stakeholders.
  • Driving innovation and research applied to the realities of the field in developing countries, in particular through the organisation of a Prize to reward and promote innovative projects that have proved their worth and can be replicated.
  • Contribute to the sustainability and replicability of projects with an impact or potential impact (innovation, new model).

Priorities

  • The SUEZ Foundation will prioritise projects
  • The start date of the integration projects is at least 6 months after the project submission date;
  • Be the object of financial partnerships and skills-based sponsorship developed with international solidarity organisations and specialised non-profit institutions
  • Able to integrate the skills-based sponsorship missions of the Group's employees
  • Implemented in various territories,
  • taking into account the sustainability of results through
    • with a clearly identified demand and the determination of the populations concerned to contribute to maintaining the service or activity to be created,
    • the autonomy of the population concerned
    • corresponding to national or regional policies adopted in the area in question,
    • with the commitment and support shown for the project by local stakeholders: user associations, local resident communities, local authorities, etc.
    • introduction of post-project monitoring
  • that have impact measurement thanks to indicators and evaluation mechanisms based on transparency, together - where possible - with the authorities of the countries concerned, in the general interest,
  • Consistent with other projects carried out on the same theme in the same geographical area; for access to essential services projects: preservation of resources, integrated management of the environment reception, collection and treatment management.
  • Search for efficiency and sustainable improvement in people's living conditions
  • Seeking the sustainability of the action thanks to the relevance of the diagnosis to be carried out upstream in order to measure the impact of the project's achievements
  • The Foundation pays special attention to projects aimed at women/girls and refugees.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligibility of project initiators The Foundation supports projects proposed by project initiators:
    • With an associative legal status, a Foundation status or Fund endowment recognised as being of public utility
    • That have been legally established for at least 2 years prior to the date of submission of the project application.
    • The Foundation prioritises candidates who have local divisions or communicate a very close partnership with a local structure, facilitating project monitoring and ex-post project follow-up.
