Google yesterday launched applications for the Google Accelerator for Startups: Africa's Women Founders Programme. The programme aims to empower and support African women founders by providing them with resources and opportunities to scale their startups and address African problems.

Google for Startups Accelerator: Women Founders is designed to bring the best of Google's expertise, products, people and technology to women-led tech startups up to Series A, based in Africa or building Africa-centred solutions with technology.
The programme includes content and mentoring tailored to the unique needs of women founders and opportunities to network with Google's global community of women founders.

A three-month virtual accelerator programme to kick-start high-potential seeds for Series A technology based in Africa.
Eligibility Criteria
Female founders who are building technology start-ups in Africa or for Africa are eligible to apply.
Eligible candidates must have a functional product or service, a viable business model and a working team.
The application process includes a written application and an interview with the programme team.

Google for Startups Accelerator Africa is accepting applications from startups in Algeria, Botswana, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Morocco, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania, Tunisia, Uganda and Zimbabwe.
