Applications are now open for the Japan-Africa Investment Dynamisation 2023. The Japan-Africa Investment Drive is a cohort-based investment accelerator that aims to "clinically" match high-potential African start-ups with suitable Japanese VCs and provide close support to both the start-up and the investor throughout the engagement to maximise investment prospects.

Eight African startups will be selected and supported to raise funds. A maximum of 15 active Japanese investors are expected to participate. There will be two months of intense engagements between Investors and Startups.

VALUE

Potential direct investment: 8 selected startups will be considered for direct investment from venture capital partner Japan strategic Capital (JSC) co.
Hot intros: Selected startups will be introduced to a curated list of more than 15 Japanese VCs. Close support will also be provided during the engagement with investors, from scheduling meetings to translating platforms and proving translators during investor meetings.
Fundraising support: Comprehensive legal, cultural and administrative support will be provided to selected start-ups throughout the fundraising process. Personalised training (1-on-1) and group seminars on how to attract and close Japanese investment will also be provided.

ELIGIBILITY

Open to high-potential African start-ups.

The start-up must have an MVP and be ready for investment.
