Purpose Earth Grant 2027 Funding This presents an excellent opportunity for activists, community organisations and change-makers in Cape Verde and the other CPLP countries. This international support programme aims to drive forward innovative solutions that tackle our planet’s most pressing environmental and social challenges. If you have a local project with the potential to make an environmental or community impact, this initiative offers not only financial resources but also the support needed to turn your ideas into reality.
With financial support of up to US$ 10,000 (around 1,000,000 CVE), the programme focuses on supporting grassroots initiatives that would otherwise struggle to access start-up capital.
Eligible Areas of Focus
The Purpose Earth Grant aims to support projects that demonstrate originality, viability and a strong commitment to the regeneration of our planet. The main categories include:
- Environmental Restoration and Biodiversity: Protection of local ecosystems, reforestation and the conservation of flora and fauna.
- Community Sustainability: Sustainable agriculture, waste management, renewable energy at a local level and access to drinking water.
- Cultural Preservation and Ancestral Knowledge: Integrating traditional knowledge into nature conservation and strengthening local identities.
- Activism and Environmental Education: Awareness-raising campaigns and educational programmes that equip the younger generations to take action on climate change.
Why is this the ideal opportunity for Cape Verde?
As a Small Island Developing State (SIDS), Cape Verde faces unique challenges arising from climate change, such as water scarcity, coastal erosion and the need for an energy transition.
This funding enables local cooperatives, youth associations, NGOs and Cape Verdean social entrepreneurs to develop solutions tailored to the realities of the archipelago, promoting climate resilience from within the communities themselves.
