Call for Applications for the UNODC YouthLED Advisory Council on Integrity 2026–2028
UNODC (the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime) is delighted to announce the opening of the application process for its innovative YouthLED Advisory Council on Integrity, with a term of office running from 2026 to 2028. This pioneering initiative seeks to bring together a diverse group of visionary young people, aged between 18 and 30, with the aim of shaping UNODC’s strategies and programmes to promote integrity and combat corruption at a global level. One of the main focuses of this call for applications is to identify emerging talent and community leaders from Cape Verde, so that they can bring unique and valuable perspectives to the global agenda.
The YouthLED Advisory Council on Integrity will serve as a crucial platform for the active participation of young people in the design and implementation of policies that address complex challenges such as corruption, organised crime and impunity. Selected members will have a unique opportunity to collaborate directly with UNODC experts, share their experiences, propose innovative solutions and influence the direction of the organisation’s initiatives. This is an exceptional opportunity for young people from Cape Verde to become agents of change, highlighting the archipelago’s resilience and potential in tackling these issues.
Ideal candidates are individuals who are passionate about social justice, ethics and transparency, and who demonstrate an active commitment to promoting integrity within their communities. They are expected to possess strong communication and critical thinking skills, as well as a genuine willingness to work as part of a team across different cultural contexts. A diversity of experiences, socio-economic backgrounds and fields of activity will be a key factor in the selection process, ensuring equitable and inclusive representation. UNODC values a diversity of voices and actively seeks young social entrepreneurs, activists, students, professionals and young people involved in various forms of civic and community action.
Participation in the YouthLED Advisory Council on Integrity is an enriching experience that offers not only the opportunity to contribute to a future characterised by greater integrity, but also to develop leadership skills, build an international network and gain an in-depth understanding of the global dynamics of the fight against corruption. Members will have the opportunity to take part in virtual meetings and, subject to the availability of resources, in face-to-face events organised by UNODC, where they will be able to present their views and recommendations. The impact of this council will transcend borders, bringing Cape Verde’s valuable contribution to the global discussion and action.
Applications will be assessed on the basis of the candidates’ suitability in relation to the established criteria, their motivation and their potential to contribute significantly to the Council’s objectives. This is a call for young people from Cape Verde to play a leading role in building a fairer and more transparent world.
The deadline for applications is 14 August 2026.
