Programme objectives
The STDF focuses on three main areas:
- Strengthening Commercial Capacity – To support projects that improve export infrastructure and processes.
- Sanitary and Phytosanitary Safety – To ensure that Cape Verdean products meet international quality and safety standards.
- Innovation and Sustainability – To encourage agricultural and commercial practices that promote climate resilience and economic efficiency.
Who can apply?
Public and private organizations, including:
- Agricultural companies and cooperatives
- Research and development institutions
- Non-governmental organizations (NGOs) focused on trade and agriculture.
- Government agencies related to trade and food safety.
Selection Criteria
The projects will be evaluated based on:
- Potential impact in the economic and social development of Cape Verde.
- Technical and financial feasibility – Well-structured projects with clear execution plans.
- Long-term sustainability – Ability to continue after initial funding.
- Alignment with national and international priorities in trade and food safety.
