O Leadership and Advocacy Fellowship Program for Women in Africa (LAWA) This represents a unique opportunity for Cape Verdean women who wish to develop essential skills in leadership, advocacy, and human rights. Designed to empower African women, this program offers intensive training that combines theory and practice, preparing them to take on leading roles in promoting social justice and gender equality.

Programme objectives

LAWA aims to empower women with legal and leadership tools so they can influence public policy, defend fundamental rights, and lead transformative initiatives in their communities. Through a multidisciplinary approach, participants will have access to training modules in:

  • Human Rights and Gender Equality Analysis of international instruments and advocacy strategies.
  • Leadership and Project Management – Developing skills for managing teams and resources.
  • Communication and Negotiation Techniques for influencing decisions and mobilizing support for social causes.
