The Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF) Research Grant for Climate and Poverty Solutions offers funding of up to £1 million for innovative research projects that address the interconnected challenges of climate change and poverty.
This grant aims to support research that explores integrated solutions to mitigate and adapt to climate change, while promoting sustainable development and poverty reduction. Research proposals must focus on one of the following thematic areas:
* Adaptation and resilience to climate change
* Climate change mitigation and low-carbon development
* Climate governance and policies
* Climate finance and investment
* Climate justice and equity
Projects should be led by researchers from UK institutions in collaboration with partners from low- and middle-income countries. Research should be interdisciplinary and involve a wide range of stakeholders, including local communities, policymakers and civil society organisations.
The grant funding will cover research costs, including researchers' salaries, equipment and travel. Projects will last up to five years and will be assessed on the basis of their scientific merit, potential for impact and ability to build lasting partnerships.
