Eligibility and Selection Criteria

The UNESCO/People's Republic of China (Great Wall) Co-sponsored Scholarship Programme 2025/2026 offers exceptional opportunities for international students to pursue advanced studies in China. To be eligible, applicants must meet specific criteria that ensure the selection of the most deserving candidates.

Firstly, applicants must be citizens of a UNESCO Member State other than the People's Republic of China. In addition, they must have a bachelor's degree or equivalent and an outstanding academic record. Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in the Chinese language or be willing to learn it during the scholarship period.

In addition to the academic requirements, candidates must also meet age criteria. Applicants for master's programmes must be under 35 at the time of application, while applicants for doctoral programmes must be under 40.
