The Crucial Role of Young People in Adapting to Climate Change
The Centre for Green Growth recognises the key role of young people in adapting to climate change and has therefore launched a comprehensive training programme to empower young leaders in this crucial area. The programme aims to equip young people with the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to tackle the challenges of climate change and lead adaptation efforts in their communities.
The training covers a wide range of topics, including the impacts of climate change, adaptation strategies, environmental leadership and effective communication. Participants learn about the latest research and best practices in climate adaptation, as well as develop practical skills in planning, implementing and monitoring adaptation projects.
In addition to technical knowledge, the programme also emphasises the development of leadership skills. Young people are encouraged to identify and develop their leadership strengths, build relationships and work collaboratively with other stakeholders. They also learn about advocacy and community engagement, enabling them to influence policies and actions related to climate adaptation.
