Leadership Opportunities for Emerging African Women: The EJS Centre's Amujae Initiative
The Ellen Johnson Sirleaf (EJS) Center for Women and Development is pleased to announce the Amujae 2024 Initiative, a comprehensive programme designed to empower and support emerging African women public leaders.
The Amujae Initiative recognises the crucial need to increase the representation and influence of women in public leadership across Africa. The programme aims to provide women with the skills, knowledge and networks needed to successfully navigate the challenges and opportunities of public leadership.
Through a combination of face-to-face training, mentoring and networking opportunities, the Amujae Initiative will empower participants in key areas such as strategic leadership, political advocacy, financial management and effective communication. The programme will also provide a platform for women to share experiences, learn from each other and build lasting relationships.
The candidates selected for the Amujae Initiative will be African women with a proven track record of leadership and a strong commitment to public service. They will represent a wide range of sectors, including government, civil society, academia and business.
The face-to-face training programme will be held at the EJS Center in Monrovia, Liberia, and will feature renowned experts and thought leaders from across Africa. Participants will also have the opportunity to engage with senior women public leaders and learn from their experiences.
In addition to the training, the Amujae Initiative will provide individualised mentoring and networking opportunities for the participants. The mentors will be experienced women public leaders who will provide guidance, support and counselling to the participants.
The Amujae Initiative is a transformative opportunity for emerging African women public leaders. By providing the necessary tools and support, the programme aims to empower women to take on leadership roles and make a significant contribution to the development of their countries and the continent as a whole.
